Why Buying a Cheap Lash Manual Could Cost You Everything (Literally)

If you’re too lazy to write your own manual but too cheap to invest in a legit one, you’re playing Russian roulette with your reputation.
The real reason smart lash educators invest in trusted resources — and how the wrong manual can destroy your brand, your reputation, or worse.
For Lash Educators (or "wannabes") — Read This Before You Regret It
If you value your peace, your students’ safety, and your sleep at night — give me five minutes. This could save your career.
Let’s get straight to it.
The Lash Artist Who Went to Jail
No, this isn’t some TikTok horror story. This is the side of the industry no one talks about — the real consequences of cutting corners.
Lash educators carry serious responsibility. You're teaching people how to work millimeters from someone’s eyeball with sharp tools and industrial-grade adhesive. You're basically a surgeon — but glam.
Every day — somewhere in the world — someone ends up with glued-shut eyes, burns, infections, or even permanent blindness because of poor lash training.
Not bad luck. Not an accident.Just lazy, sloppy, copy-pasted "education" from someone who didn’t care enough to do it properly.
Imagine that being your student’s client. Imagine that client suing your student. Now imagine your student suing you.
In the U.S., if a lash artist blinds someone due to gross negligence:
Civil fines: Up to hundreds of thousands in damages.
Criminal charges: Up to 10+ years in prison for felony assault (varies by state).
Licensing: Possible permanent revocation.
If this is your student this blows back on you too!
Let it sit.
So why are people still out here buying lash manuals from strangers on the internet with no credentials, no checks, and no reputation?
Your Lash Manual is something your student takes home so that they can later refer to it, its not as simple like an Ikea guide to screw furniture together, because the worse that is going to happen there is ugly furniture, but if you give them a half assed lash manual they might injure someone with dire consequences not just for your student and their client but YOU too their teacher.
This Industry Is Not a Game
If you're thinking of selling lash courses as a cute little “side hustle” or a quick cash grab — pause.
It takes more than a Canva logo and a ring light to become a real lash educator.Because here’s the thing:
You’re not just selling a course — you’re shaping someone’s skill, future, and responsibility for the safety of their clients.
You may be buying an illegitimate manual and don't even know it.
That $15 purchase may end up costing you $150 000
The Rise of Fake Educators, Fake Manuals, Copy-Paste Templates & MRR
It’s so trendy to be an “educator & templated designer” nowadays that everybody and their dog is suddenly “selling training”
There’s a wave — more like a tsunami — of master resale rights garbage flooding the beauty industry. You’ve probably seen it:Templates. Manuals. Courses. “Starter packs.” Digital bundles.
Slapped together by people who’ve never held a tweezer in their life — let alone taught a class, worked on a real client, or built an actual lash business.
There is so many in fact that by latest estimates up to 50% of all material out there is bogus or down right stolen which you can and will be sued for if caught using it,
we are not talking about little cute slap on the hand and we are all friends, we are talking life shattering ruinous amounts even your grand children will be paying.
Right now, it’s trendy to call yourself a lash educator, course creator, template designer, or "digital CEO" — even if your last job was reviewing makeup brushes on TikTok.
Suddenly, everyone’s selling manuals, training kits, or template bundles — and most of them wouldn’t know a lash layer from a lasagna.
You’ve got people out here offering everything from skincare guides to "How to become a lash boss in 30 minutes" — all while re-selling the same copy-pasted garbage with new colors.
Let’s be real:These people don’t care about you. They don’t care about your students. And they sure as hell don’t care about integrity.
They’re not in this to help you succeed.
They’re in it to flip a quick buck — and they know their stuff isn’t worth proper money. So what do they do?
They dump it next to a thousand other recycled files for £15 and hope someone desperate or uneducated will fall for it.
It’s not just bad business — it’s dangerous. And if you think a $15 resale rights PDF from someone who also sells “how to manifest six figures by journaling” is a safe training manual… I have serious questions.
So, Ask Yourself This…
Do you really believe that something created by someone with no lash experience will give your students the tools to perform safe, skilled work?
Would you trust a pilot who downloaded their flight training from Etsy?
Then why would you gamble your name, your reputation, and your students’ future on the same?
Please please be safe and do your research.
Than we arrive to the "looks like a professional" but really screaming "Wish.com"
Than there are those sellers that are trying to demonstrate that they are legitimate but if you look deep enough it all falls apart.
These dare to ask you for $50 - $250 for their "expertly designed curriculum"
These are harder to tell apart from the more obvious $15 etsy scammers, these people do hold tweezers and even do the odd "client" more like victim, these people had some 3rd grade education at someones basement in exchange for a pack of cigarettes and because their "lash carrier" dried up as quickly as it began they jumped on the next thing they have seen on TikTok with the same effort and dedication like their previous venture.
Now they call them selves the "Lash Designer" or "The digital CEO" or some other ........
They usually get various templates from other sources and "inspired" by them they attempt to create their own version.
Now because they haven't got a clue about how to teach a person, structure a curriculum or an ounce of design sence they end up copy pasting from other sources which btw. are copyrighted and protected by the law.
The end result still looks like you ordered the Wish version of the original thing but now with extra sprinkle of illegal.
All you'll see - a cover photo of the product ( stolen from a reputable company ) to disguise the monstrosity, and you wont see it until you buy it.
8 white pages in a word document with that good old default font from 95'.
Some pixelated google screenshots pasted and some broken english.
And VOILÀ or Tadaaa (which ever you prefer) the highly sensitive precision tool you meant to put your fait, name and reputation to is now ready for you to buy.
If you don't know any better ( and why would you this is your first time buying or making a manual ) you fall right for it.
I mean they looked legit right ? They didn't charge suspiciously low neither. They come up on your social media wall all the time talking that BIG Boss Babe talk so you pull the triger and buy. You receive your order (hopefully), you're not particularly happy with the result but you already paid for it and you guess it will be ok to use...... until..... that sceise and desist letter arrives to your doorstep.
A very official looking header with a corporate name on the top.... You have been summoned.....
Cold sweat down back of your neck, you realised you are in deep....
You might be using a manual like this right now and not even know it.
You might not even know until something goes horribly wrong.
The Legitimate places charge a premium for a reason, this is all they do, they do not do 10 things in the same time half assedly, they spending years perfecting their recipe so you get the best humanly possible.
This is a longterm investment, so triet it acordingly.
An investment btw. which you should get back by your 1st student. 😉
Final Thought: If You're Serious about this business, Then Act Like It
Stop cheapskating or it will bite you, this is not the place for that.
Get your self a reliable lash manual a legit, safe, tried & tested and most importantly in use by hundreds of successful lash brands as well as 7-8 figure Lash Giants in the game.... mick drop.... :)
